"I enjoyed helping out and it was fun. As a single mum, I don't go out a lot. So it was nice to get out, help out, meet people and have fun doing so." Amanda Elmes, Volunteer
Do you want to be part of a fun, social group of people? Do you want to help make a wonderful local resource a vibrant and exciting place to be? Then why not get involved at Newport Memorial Hall? There are plenty of ways you can get involved. You can even do it from the comfort of your own armchair!
Without the support of some fantastic people, we would not be able to put on any of the great events we do. But we need more people to help us. You don’t have to be young, just young at heart, and with a strong sense of the common good.
And as a supporter, we want to show you how much we appreciate you. In return for giving your support, we give you:
- FREE entry to events
- FREE training
- An annual Thank You party
- A enormous sense of wellbeing!
There are lots of different ways you can help:
The Hall puts on a number of events a year, which require catering. We need people to make and serve food and drinks, wash up and tidy away. Or just donating a cake is a tremendous help!
The bar is a vital part of putting on successful events at the hall and profit from the bar forms a significant part of the Hall’s income. We need social people with sense of fun to help make our bar a success.
The Hall doesn’t have a marketing budget so we need people to help us with this: putting up posters, sharing and retweeting events on social media or selling raffle tickets or ‘ducks’ in the famous annual Duck Race.
The Hall relies on funds raised through events and hiring but it is always a struggle to cover running costs. You can help by giving a one off donation or a regular amount. Or donate items to sell at our regular table top sales.
